Don’t let lack of “proper” apparel prevent you from going to the gym
Now I know in the past that I have done articles explaining how not to get noticed at the gym, but if it comes down to choosing those pants in the bottom of the drawer that used to say JUICY, but now say JICY, welll it’s time to get JICY with it. It is far better to look odd at the gym than not to go. You are not there to impress people, or look wonderful while working out, you are there for your health. A lot of people will use this excuse so they don’t have to go to the gym, and ultimately they are screwing themselves over. I was actually reminded of this tip because of someone at the gym yesterday, one of my friends came up to me and said “Ryan it looks like you forgot to wear your gym shoes again.” I said “no sir, the side of my foot is still torn up from the injury I incurred from my old shoes, besides, I am not here to look pretty, I am here to feel healthy…..looking pretty is just a side effect ;) ” The reason he noticed my shoes is because currently due to the pain, the only shoes I can wear are slip-on dress shoes, and yeah I look kinda lame, but I could care less, because every day I let clothing be an excuse, is one day further I am from my goals.

I was watching the show Bully today, and it made me really sad. As a kid I was bullied, I mean being an over weight kid, people rip you apart. That’s kinda why the movie really hit home with me, and its scary because the children who are the victims are hurting or killing themselves and people just say kids will be kids. If that was the case every kid would be a bully, but not all are.
Now all of this got me thinking about something someone once said to me, if you present a problem, then also present a solution.
So here is my idea, start a new system for monitoring bullying, a reporting 5 strike system. This way a school can protect our kids without over stepping there bounds, well also putting the responsibility on the parents, who should be the ones dealing with the kids that are being bully’s.
Report 1: If a child is reported once for bulling they get detention
Report 2: A letter is sent home to the parents that they must sign and the child is given a week of detention.
Report 3: The parents are called in for a meeting about there kid bullying other students and the child is given detention for a month
Report 4: A police report is filed and the child is suspended
Report 5: Social services is contacted
Also the failure of the school to take action on reports of bullying may result in a fine for that school. By doing this it will make the school more inclined to follow through with protecting there students, as the schools reputation and also there districts finances may be affected. This will also require a new governing body to be created in order to take reports of schools failing to follow throw with complaints made against bullies. With a new governing body comes new jobs, which can help to stimulate the economy. This may also require multiple new non bias people to be hired all across Canada and the U.S., to investigate these claims for the governing bodies, creating further jobs.
This all may sound extreme but if the parents are involved, and they are made aware that actions might be taken against them instead of just there children, then the parents will be more likely to do something about there child being a bully. This may all sound extreme but that’s the point. Though it is the responsibility of the school to provide a safe environment for the child, it is the responsibility of all parents to raise a child that is not going to be violent or cruel to others. This is not just for the child being bullied by the way, some of those kids that are bullies may grow up to have serious regrets, especially if they actually caused another child to hurt or kill themselves. Now I do realize this idea may need some tweaking, and also may need to be made different for kindergarten through grade 7 vs high-school, but its a good start I think.

Well I could not sleep last night. Sometimes it happens, when I was really sick I use to get insomnia and would stay up for days in pain. BUTTTT I still went to the gym this morning. I find I just zone out and do my thiang. I burned about 550 calories in an hour. Not to shabby. I have decided to cut my calories back a bit till I get down a few lbs. I do realize I have gained a bit of muscle, but I also think I may have gained 3 or 4lbs of fat. I always notice a difference over even slight gains. I have decided to do it really slowly, just lower my cals by about 300 a day, so I also get what I need to build my big strong muscles.
Hey everyone. So lately I have been trying to figure out what more I could do with my tumblr. I do love giving tips, and I am gonna continue to do so, but the thing is I am also still growing and going through stuff. My health issues have not just disappeared, and I still am learning about maintaining and building muscle. So I figure that on the days that I dont have tips, I am gonna use this channel to discuss the going ons in my new adventure.
So in the spirit of talking about my new adventure, here is a small update:
I have been working hard on bulking up, I have put on muscle and honestly it freaks me out watching the scale go up in any way. I know it will happen obviously as the muscle grows, but still freaks me out a bit. I also am planning on getting 1 or 3 possible personal training certs, and my First aid, cpr Aed, and I am currently writing something about myself for another fitness website, so keep an eye out for a new post with a link to that stuff :)

If you are depressed, or just dont feel you can exercise today, go somewhere that makes you feel happy.
As you can imagine, when I first started to lose weight I felt like crap all the time, for a lot of you that dont know my back story or have not seen my youtube videos, when I first started to lose weight, I was really sick and was ready to check out. On days were things got to unbearable, I would drive to the beach and walk there, now granted I could only walk short periods of time(due to my excessive weight), it always helped to cheer me up. When you are happy it also motivates you to push harder. So next time you are feeling terrible, just choose somewhere you love, and go there, even if it is not physical(not a buffet for the love of everything good and holy).
